This position requires that this individual have good communication skills and will work alongside the team to meet production goals. They will assist in the production processes of the facility along with ensuring a safe environment and meet research trial goals. The person in this role will have experience with farm productivity and lead the production goals necessary to support different activities such as: breeding, farrowing, husbandry and treatments.
60% Production Management:
– Daily checks, vax, Feed weigh back, husbandry
– Husbandry, treatments, culling, birth weights, farrow records, day 1 ca
o Breeding dept:
– Feed/scrape, treat as needed, heat check, grouping animals, AI, moving animals
– Record matings, treatments, etc
– Evaluate semen
30% Facility/grounds/Safety Management:
o Measure and record feed weigh backs
o Transfer data from animal scales/carts to laptop
o Complete and hang sow feed/farrow data collection cards according to assigned trial treatment
o Place and remove environmental temperature recorders in locations according to trial protocols
o Maintain research data collection equipment in working order (i.e.: calibration checks)

•Minimum High School Diploma with 1+ years of swine experience.
•Experience in maintain, maintenance, and meeting budget requirements.
•Ability to apply safety, employment practices and understands supervisor responsibilities.
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
•Experience with STATs.
•2+ years supervisory experience.
