Job Purpose and Impact

The Swine Nutritionist will provide advice and consultation to our internal and external customers about the best nutritional solutions and technology, by partnering and working alongside the US commercial and technical teams. We seek a multifaceted professional to fulfill this crucial role for enabling the business to enhance its commercial growth by bringing its best technology to an exclusive set of customers and prospects throughout the region that are targeted to achieve significant growth. In this role you will serve as the first point of contact for Swine nutrition expertise within the local customer facing organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • As a member of the North American Swine Technical Team, you will participate and contribute to key technical discussions on nutrient specifications, nutrition program development, and research or innovation needs.
  • Partner with account managers to identify customer needs, determine fits for Cargill offerings and serve as a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Work directly with customers on nutrition consulting (diet strategy, nutrient analysis, ingredient supplier selection, research, and economic modeling) and provide technical support to Cargill products and services.
  • Optimize nutritional requests, crafting the best offer from a nutritional and commercial perspective.
  • Provide input in setting research and innovation priorities.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirement:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PhD or DVM in a related field.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in commercial swine nutrition or related field.
Confirmed swine nutrition knowledge and proficient use of formulation tools and concepts
Commercial swine production experience
Ability to travel up to 40%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Established relationships with US top 40 swine producers
Passion for understanding, creating, and communicating value and solutions to team members and customers
Ability to communicate the science to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to design and execute field research under commercial conditions
Knowledge of nutritional models
Experience with on-farm troubleshooting management techniques
