Strategic Account Manager – Swine

Job Purpose and Impact

The Strategic Account Manager – Swine will focus on medium- to long-term planning and face-to-face selling. In this role, you will sell a variety of our products, services and solutions across multiple lines for a group of existing clients and prospects. We seek a results-oriented professional who will participate in building medium- to long-range sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow and diversify the relationship with a defined group of swine producers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help identify and lead interactions with swine producers to close sales opportunities.
  • Participate in resolving problems and ensuring swine producers receive high-quality service.
  • With minimal mentorship, develop client retention and growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with Cargill’s direct swine accounts.
  • Review and report on customer retention, business opportunities and market trends.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to the Account Team set up to serve the customer.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in the customer’s organization and prospective customers as you look to build out the customer portfolio.
  • Monitor customer activity and requirements closely to ensure continuous value creation and optimization.
  • Manage and execute proposals to existing and prospective Swine clients, review production management opportunities (Nutrition, Herd Health, Ventilation, etc.), and access financial performance so as to address areas of opportunity.
  • Network with stakeholders in the industry and attend industry events
  • Build and document Sales Plans using Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum of four years of related work experience
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
