Research/Lab Technician

About this Job:

Job Description

Providing animal care, record keeping and support for the National Swine Resource and Research Center.  These animnals are at multiple locations across campus and are of high value.  These animals represent a genetic resource for the biomedical community.  Must be able to maintain biosecurity at these various locations.

Feed and Care for animals

Breeding and farrowing which may include semen collection, litter processing, and estrus detection.

Record keeping

Health monitoring and care.

Others duties may include helping with euthanization, sample collections from live or morbid animals and disposal of morbid animals at the Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory or Animal Sciences.


Salary: $10.43 – $16.77 per hour

Grade: GGS-004

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Maybe some weekends and holidays as needed.



Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
