Regional Maintenance Supervisor

About this Job:

Objective:

Responsible for providing maintenance service to several locations while leading a team of maintenance technicians throughout the System, including on-site supervision for their work performance and participating in training and professional development while working and reporting back to the PRM Director. We provide maintenance and emergency service for over 70+ farms throughout the Mid-West. This job will be serving Pipestone MN and Eastern SD.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Be able to assess and repair equipment such as electrical, plumbing, ventilation, controls, feed systems, MIG welding and basic construction, using a multi-meter, reading schematics/diagrams, basic all-around hands-on fixing/repairing farm related equipment.
  • Supervise, schedule and assign the work of maintenance employees
  • Establish programs and procedures as needed to train maintenance employees and efficiently achieve our maintenance objectives.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets for all locations in your Region.
  • Perform the work of maintenance employees and other duties as required.

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Maintenance experience
  • Ability to meet and interact tactfully and courteously with fellow employees/vendors/contractors/farm managers and supervisors.
  • Exceptionally reliable and professional
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Basic computer experience (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to meet deadlines
  • Overnight travel required, must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record
Requirement:

Education:

BS degree, post-secondary education, trade school training, or equivalent experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred

Experience:

3-5 years in Maintenance field, 1-2 years of supervisory experience
Agricultural experience preferred

Training: As assigned

Work Environment: Agricultural swine environment in rural area

Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day

Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling

Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull

Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds

Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move

Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths

Additional Requirements:

Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to get to work and attend meetings
