Job Description: Â We are seeking a highly qualified PhD Nutritionist/Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a dual role in formulating private label trace mineral premixes and overseeing our quality assurance program. This position involves direct sales support, offering technical expertise, and building strong relationships with our customers to drive product adoption and sales growth. The candidate will be heavily involved in both the technical support of our products and the management of the quality team at our Quincy site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively seek out and secure new business opportunities to drive sales growth and monitor market trends and competitor activities to quickly identify and act on opportunities and challenges.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing technical support and guidance on the use and benefits of our products.
- Formulate private label trace mineral premixes tailored to customer specifications.
- Oversee the quality team at the Quincy site, implementing and maintaining quality control measures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in trace mineral nutrition and formulation.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within the animal nutrition industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication abilities.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to relocate to Quincy, IL, and be present at the site.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience with SFSF or SQF quality program and an understanding of GMP’s
- Experience with pet food and swine nutrition is highly desirable.
- Previous involvement in a quality-focused role is a plus.
