Position Overview & Responsibilities:

Has immediate responsibility for the daily care of critical care, small and fallout pig management.

Major Areas of Accountability:

• Daily Evaluation of every pig.
• Early Pig Care execution.
• Identification and treatment of sick pigs.
• Monitor health and provide feedback to Pod Lead.
• Administer water medications when necessary.
• Environment management/proper ventilation settings.
• Mat Feeding.
• Gruel Feeding.
• Feeder adjustments.
• Water Management.
• Assist in receiving pigs.
• Sorting
• Records and Reporting.
• Weekend accountability of task completion in the absence of the Pod manager. Report concerns or problems to the Pod manager for resolution.
• Grade pigs.
• Ensure timely euthanasia is performed as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Position requires a minimum of one year experience in early pig care.
Position requires individual must be self-motivated and has the willingness to learn the required skills to assist in the production of a quality feeder pig.

Personnel Requirements:

Individual must be trustworthy, dependable, reliable and a team player. Must have ability to fulfill requirements as directed by Pod Lead or Service Manager.

Judgement Required:

Utilizes independent judgment in development and execution of day-to-day responsibilities.
