General Manager – Livestock Management

About this Job:

Nedap Livestock Management is the worldwide market leader in the automation of stall processes on the basis of electronic individual animal identification. The position of General Sales Manager Livestock at Nedap Inc. will focus on sales and marketing activities in connection to Nedap’s product propositions in the Swine and Cow industries in North America. You will:

  • Monitor emerging market trends to identify profitable sales opportunities
  • Acquire new business to generate growth through direct sales and sales channeling by successfully negotiating sales agreements congruent to margin objectives that are executable for Nedap and partners within the USA;
  • Develop and maintain sales relationships through networking at the executive level of relevant livestock producers with emphasis on Swine industry
  • Ability to translate Nedap technical product portfolio as part of the future of the production process that make a difference in the progress of the industry
  • Actively participate in shaping the marketing proposition to align with Nedap’s strategic sales and operational plans to increase territory market visibility
  • Identify customer needs and demands in the local market to feed the creative process within the Nedap organization
  • Ability to drive local sales and support activities to meet strategic and financial goals and relay to Global management through periodic reporting
  • Foster relationships with Global Corporate Head Quarters and World-wide stakeholders to unify strategic sales efforts

You will be a progressive leader to our 100% remote US Livestock team collaborating with both the Swine and Dairy colleagues as an active motivator of our sales and service support enterprise in the North American territory.

In addition to the above activities and responsibilities, you will perform such other duties to collaborate with the Global Sales initiative of the Livestock Management Division. This position will report to the President of Nedap Inc. aligned with our Global Director of Sales.

Requirement:
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in agribusiness or related field
  • 10+ years of sales and team management experience
  • Understanding and exposure to livestock production environment
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue goals
  • Ability to travel 50-60% both domestically and internationally
  • Preferably local to majority of industry market operations (US Mid-west area) 
  • Strong planning and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Ability to work as a dedicated teammate
  • Ability to motivate and develop members of the team
