The farrowing manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the farrowing section, and to organize and oversee the care of all sows and litters in the section. Duties include: organizing daily tasks and routines of all technicians, train section staff as required, ensure all section equipment is operating correctly and repairs are completed, ensure staff compliance of standard operating procedures, find creative solutions to improve productivity.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks. Weekend and holiday work is required on a rotational basis. A valid driver’s licence and a vehicle are required to get to and from work. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Management experience is considered an asset. The ability to communicate in English is required.
