Hi, I am Dayra Aguilar, an Agronomist Engineer, from Honduras, I am a highly focused and experienced professional in the swine field, with specialization in feed improvement trials, animal welfare and animal nutrition. My commitment to this field is reflected in my successful collaborations with prominent institutions such as NC State and industry leaders such as Smithfield Foods, where I have contributed to research related to nutrition, weight gain and healing methods. My training includes a one-year in Swine research internship with Ohio State University in the United States, giving me solid experience in animal welfare and the design and development of research projects.
My skill set encompasses data collection, monitoring, and performing critical procedures on pigs, such as castration, vaccination, and obtaining blood samples both ocularly and jugularly. In addition, I am skilled in taking tissue samples for biopsies and laboratory work in the area of metabolism.
