Cargill Pork has an opportunity available for a Feed Formulation Professional in Coralville, IA. Responsibilities will include the daily formulation needs of Cargill feed production facilities serving our live pork production business in the Midwest and multiple toll manufacturing facilities. The majority of the time for this role will be spent in an office with most of that being computer based while interacting with the ingredient merchandiser, feed mill personnel, accounting, feed desk and other production team members.

Accountabilities:

* 60% – Through frequent communication with nutrition team, the formulation professional will be responsible to utilize Cargill’s proprietary formulation system to design desired swine rations and transfer ration information to specified feed mills ensuring the necessary labeling of products and ensuring FDA and other applicable regulatory guidelines are adhered to. * 25% – Routinely run reformulation and ingredient cost analysis for each feed mill location serving Cargill Pork. * 15% – As a key member of our production team, this specialist will also be involved in production support as well as special projects as needed by the business and close interaction with our field managers and veterinarians.

Overview:
The Meat Technical Category Manager is responsible for providing deep technical expertise across different processed meat categories ranging from poultry, beef, pork to seafood. Deliverables include productivity savings, new meat ingredient development as well as quality improvement activities. In order to be successful against these deliverables, knowledge of labeling regulations and meat safety is a plus. Industry knowledge enhances success as a source of new ideas, efficient project commercialization and delivery against cost targets.

The meat team is organized as a centralized function and has the accountability of delivering opportunities across the varied business divisions that use meat.

Accountabilities:
• Work with all internal divisions with meat components.
• Ensure business divisions are updated on project status and to ensure support of new technology ideas.
• Productivity and new technology work for new products, etc
• Drive cross-functional identification and prioritization of best current projects, identify specifications, and enable divisions to be successful
• Translate opportunities into a strategic vision.
• Independently lead projects.

Qualification Education: MS or PhD in Meat Science or Meat Technology, MS/PhD in Food Science with Minor in Meat
