This position is responsible for selling boxed pork products to some of our larger high volume Foodservice accounts within the Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc. corporate office. This person must be able to adapt to varying customer personalities to effectively manage these large, high volume Foodservice accounts. Effective and efficient time management is a must to successfully negotiate and assess the best decisions for the company. These decisions are often time pressed and most often have significant impact to overall market psychology, pricing and positioning within the pork industry. Tyson Fresh Meats is a market leader within the meat industry; therefore, must convey the knowledge and confidence in pricing, market trends and product knowledge to be successful in this very dynamic environment; must effectively work with several other internal departments to maximize revenue and lower costs in all possible ways; will be asked to be involved in various special projects as assigned.
Education: Bachelor degree, preferably Ag-related.
Experience: 6+ years Fresh Meats sales experience is preferred. Evidence of a prior leadership role is a plus. Knowledge of Tyson Fresh Meat’s systems, departments, product codes, plant capabilities and product programs is desirable.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. This person must be confident in presenting material over the phone and in person. Proven experience in communicating critical and influential material in a prior sales or equivalent role is desirable.
Computer Skills: This person must have some knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
Supervisory: Will manage a management support person.
Travel: Less than 5 trips per year.
