Swine Research Assistant

About this Job:

Hubbard Feeds, part of the Alltech® Feed Division, provides a full range of innovative, research-based animal feed and nutrition products. Our customers include meat, milk and egg producers as well as those with specialty and companion animals. Our goal is to provide customers with products and solutions that will improve their profitability and competitive advantage, while reducing risk and simplifying their lives.  We currently have an opening for a Swine Research Coordinator at our regional office in Mankato, MN.

The primary function of this position is coordination and support of research trials, ingredient and product validation studies within collaborative research facilities, assist with livestock performance recording, data capture and translation into documented reports, and provide an active liaison with research facility and company personnel to optimize research outcomes. Hubbard Feeds routinely conducts annually at least 15 highly replicated trials within two commercial production research facilities including one, 1000 head nursery and one 2500 head wean-finish barn.

The secondary function of this position will include (but not limited to) formulation, verification, technical services to account managers, dealers and producers and communication/liaison with Alltech scientists.

Requirement:

The ideal candidate will have a M.S. degree (preferred) in Animal Science or B.S. with 3 to 5 years’ experience in swine/feed research along with knowledge and or background in statistics. The candidate will be very detail orientated and be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. It is critical that the candidate is able to communicate research results in an understandable manner to customers and account managers.
