Swine Marketing Specialist

About this Job:

Objective: Have a desire to work daily with swine and people. Have the ability to identify swine that are an ideal market weight, implement market strategies, understand swine marketing, coordinate people and communicate in a professional manner with colleagues.

Education: Prefer 2 – 4 Years Post High School Education

Experience: Prefer Livestock Experience and Supervisory Experience

Training: Safety Orientation Video

Annual Safety Training

Animal Welfare Training/PQA Certification

TQA Training & Certification

FMLA Training

Other designated company online courses

Work Environment: Agricultural swine confinement environment in rural location

Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day

Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling

Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull

Frequent lifting of objects weighing 10-20 pounds

Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move

Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person or equipment as needed

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work weekends

Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to work and attend meetings

Must be insurable under Pipestone’s vehicle insurance provider

Basic computer knowledge to send/receive emails and reports

Basic knowledge of MS office suite-Excel- preferred — not required
