Sow Production Manager – Ohio

About this Job:

At AMVC Management Services, the sow production manager plays a vital role in sow farm oversight including monitoring and problem solving sow production, mentoring and developing farm managers and leadership teams, communications with farm stakeholders and communications with headquarter offices.  Sow production managers are self-motivated leaders in our organization with the ability to resolve issues and ask for help when necessary.

  • Provide oversight and leadership for four multiplication herds and the downstream gilt development.
  • Steer farms and employees to achieve farm and system goals.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate with sow production and gilt development teams.
  • Efficiently manage own schedule
  • Coordinate audits and continuing education covering human resources, safety, welfare biosecurity, Pork Quality Assurance Plus and Transport Quality Assurance
Requirement:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to flex and develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of individual personalities.

High integrity, commitment, respect and care for all animals.

No exposure to pigs or direct contact with individuals caring for pigs that are not managed by AMVC Management Services.

Ability to use basic Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Previous management experience – can be in a non-swine or agricultural field.

Knowledge of modern swine production would be helpful.
