Pork Sales Consultant: Provide technical expertise to pork producers enabling them to improve all facets of their operations (including nutrition, environment, marketing) in return for them purchasing feed products and additives from Cargill.  Consultant is responsible for maintaining current client base and achieving yearly growth targets through expansion of income per customer and new client acquisition.    Help develop marketing plans and then implement to achieve these goals.  Provide feedback to management team on pricing, service, quality …  Consultant will maintain high level of industry knowledge through on going training and self development.

Principal Accountabilities

45% – Generate new business at targeted accounts by identifying and recommending new technologies, products and production practices related to producer needs.

30% – Retain and expand strong working relationships with customers. Build multi-level and cross functional relationships with customers.

15% – Develop, execute and frequently review annual sales strategy/plans for assigned accounts/geography based on strategic importance, understanding of market, first hand customer information, and alignment with regional and Canadian strategies. Office work and team meetings.

10% – Personal learning and development activities.


Minimum Required Qualifications
– Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
– B.S. in Agriculture or relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
– 3 + years sales or pork industry experience
– Effective communication and organizational skills
– Proven ability to connect with people of differing ethnic/cultural/educational backgrounds
– Self-starter with high degree of initiative to succeed while maintaining ability to function in a team environment
– Good time management
– Must be able to travel
– Strong commitment to customer service excellence

Preferred Qualifications
– 5 + years pork industry sales experience
– Demonstrated ability to grow a sales territory
