IT Support Analyst

About this Job:

Basic Function:

The IT Support Analyst supports and maintains desktop computer systems, mobile devices, office equipment, phone/internet connections, and software in the office environment and at remotely located managed farm clients.  This position will act as a first-level resource for identifying, troubleshooting and correcting client incidents, as well as, installing, maintaining and updating selected software and hardware products in the office and at remotely located farms.  The IT Support Analyst must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to the client while maintaining confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1 Helpdesk services to corporate office, remote staff, and managed farm clients
  • Troubleshoot and solve incident reports related to phone and internet connections, desktop computers, software, peripherals, copiers, mobile devices, pay clocks and other technologies within the companies.
  • Build and set up new computers, install and configure hardware and software as needed
  • Accurately record incident resolution in ticketing system to maintain audit trail
  • Coordinate with external vendors to obtain additional support as necessary
  • Create and maintain system documentation and end-user SOPs
  • Participate in planning and implementation of policies, procedures, and new systems
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency or security of resources
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:
• Microsoft Windows 7 and 10
• Microsoft Office 2010, 2013 and 2016
• Printers, faxes, copiers and other office equipment
• Networking including wireless, switches, routers, cards and cabling
• Basic telephone (PBX and VOIP) systems, wiring and troubleshooting
• IP cameras, time clock systems, mobile devices and small NAS devices
• Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
• HP desktop and server hardware is a plus
• Virtual environments, specifically VMware is a plus
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail in planning, reporting and execution of work

Education and Experience:
• Associate’s Degree in computer related field or equivalent education/work experience
• Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus

Physical and Mental Requirements:
• Ability to perform in highly interruptive and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under frequent time pressures
• Ability to lift 40-50lbs as necessary
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time
• Travel to swine farm sites: 10% – strict adherence to biosecurity protocols required on-farm
