HR Benefits Administrator

About this Job:

Objective: Serve as a benefits specialist at our swine harvest and processing facility. Responsibility for supporting the design and development of benefit programs through the identification of external trends and best practices. Performs detailed technical reviews of employee benefits data, develops complex reporting alternatives, and conducts financial modeling. Effectively interprets FMLA, ADA, COBRA and ERISA compliance. Experience with 401(k) plan administration and vendor management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enroll employees in the company benefits programs including medical, dental, etc.
  • Weekly reconciliation of payroll deductions/billing invoices
  • Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, LOA
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets related to tracking records
  • Develop and draft management reports, memos and correspondence as assigned by HR Director
  • Organize and maintains records and filing systems both electronically in ADP and hard copy when appropriate
  • Assist in the administration of various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
  • Assist HR Director in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Handle Verification of employment for benefits
  • Handle eligibility quarterly for 401 (k) eligibility
  • Periodic Projects
  • Assist with annual review for filing ACA forms
  • Assist with monthly review for ACA requirements
  • Assist with annual 401(k) audit
  • Annual EEO-1 report
  • Annual flex discrimination testing
  • Assist with Annual Open Enrollment for Benefits
