Hog Buyer Trainee

About this Job:


Work with an experienced hog buyer(s) to learn how to develop new accounts and grow existing accounts. Will also learn how to sort and categorize all types of hogs. May also be responsible for various hog buying locations and their day to day management.

•Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
oAble to work overtime as needed
oAble to work weekends and holidays as needed
•Possess knowledge of the hog market as well as other commodity markets
•Develop new accounts and maintain existing accounts
•Process correspondence and paperwork related to accounts
•Maintain weekly reports on all activities•Keep accurate records to maintain compliance and meet the end-user’s expectations
•Sell marketing plans and explain strategies to new and existing customers
•Evaluate and assess station issues•Evaluate and assess personnel issues
•Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned

•Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under company guidelines
•Maintain certification and follow all TQA Guidelines in the Humane Handling of Livestock
•Maintain professional and respectful behavior
•Strong problem-solving abilities
•Experience or education in hog procurement
•Excellent organizational and management skills
•Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task
•Knowledge of basic office equipment
