Environmental Services Manager

About this Job:
SUMMARY: Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding the use, storage, and application of manure. Maintain accurate records and file accordingly. Keep custom applicators supplied with the necessary information needed to apply the nutrient.
• Coordinate the sampling and delivery of soils, manure or any resource requiring analysis.
• Represent Lynch Livestock as liaison with landowner, tenant, and testing lab regarding crop and nutrient management.
• Work with Local DNR agencies and area farmers on issues related to:
          o Manure Management
o Easements
          o MMP’s
          o P-Index Support
          o Spring/Fall Manure Management
• Knowledge of manure management & liquid systems
•Assist in developing rate and application information and guidelines for field staff, landowner and/or tenant.
• Review all application events from the site-specific application handbook, file papers in the cabinet and send field reports to tenants or landowners.
• Maintain central and field MMP’s in an up- to-date status at all times.
• Develop photos with acreage, buffer strips, risk areas, field borders, etc. as part of the application binder.
• Maintain the DNR and field application files according to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of Iowa State Extension, crop science and nutrient uptake recommendations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EPA and DNR imposed CAFO rules that can impact Lynch Livestock practices.
• Coordinate the processes of summer and winter activities.
• Site aesthetics, pest control, snow removal, generator management, equipment procurement and site maintenance.
• Empower employees to complete tasks through effective evaluation, discipline, and if necessary termination practices.
• Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned
• Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
          o Able to work overtime as needed
          o Able to work holidays as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture related field or significant experience and understanding of manure
application and overall management practices
• Good stockmanship and bio-
security practices must be understood and practiced at all times
• Creative and strategic abilities in approaching issues
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Self
-motivated, excellent communication skills, and able to multi-
• Computer literate – Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and internet
• Must be insurable under the Companies guidelines
• CDL beneficial
