Consultant-Swine Marketing

Responsibilities

The U.S. Swine Marketing team is responsible for preparing strategic plans and implementing marketing tactics for the portfolio of Swine brands within the U.S. Affiliate. The Swine marketing consultant will play an integral role managing selected Swine brands to create a valued customer experience and grow sales.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Development and implementation of product marketing plans to ensure achievement of desired outcomes
  • Facilitate and ensure communication, implementation, cohesiveness of brand campaigns and messaging
  • Coordination of strategies and tactics with ad agency, sales and technical teams
  • Plan and execute new product launches
  • Cross-functional collaboration with sales, management, IT, finance, market research, manufacturing, R&D, ad agency, and industry reps

  • Knowledge of Elanco, animal health industry, customers and influencers
  • Grasp of the industry dynamics/economics and potential business impact
  • Product/brand and competitor knowledge, including technical and economic differentiators
  • Build comprehensive strategies and problem solve; high use of creativity
  • Find and leverage value & brand opportunities that start with the customer need

Planning

  • Ability to develop a marketing plan with compelling strategies and tactics that are measureable
  • Knowledge of Elanco marketing processes
  • Lead, engage and collaborate with the field (management team, sales and TCs) to meet goals
  • Agency relationship management
  • Budget allocation and management

Execution

  • Implement marketing plan
  • Knowledge of functions and internal key players — their priorities, needs and requirements to successfully implement tactics
  • Ability to prioritize tactics based on business impact; project management and alignment of multiple players
  • Establish and tracks key measures/milestones
  • Adjustment of plans based on new environmental changes to meet business goals

Additional Skills/Preferences :

  • Swine expertise: functional working knowledge of U.S. Swine production
  • Demonstrated track record of success (implementation and results)
  • Breadth to think strategically and also develop effective tactics with appropriate level of detail
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills: presentation, written
  • Demonstrated peer and cross functional influence and leadership
  • MBA with concentration in marketing

Additional Information:

  • Position is based in Greenfield, IN; 20%-30% travel within the U.S.

Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 5 years’ animal health sales and/or marketing experience
