Biosecurity and Filtration Lead

About this Job:

Position Overview

This position will lead company biosecurity efforts and processes to maintain, support and uphold CF biosecurity standards.  This person will be primary point of contact in CF for biosecurity related issues.  Focus on influence and education across all departments in CF.

  • Working through the veterinary health group -Teach and train CF biosecurity methods and rationale
  • Responsible for training and auditing of biosecurity procedures at CF transport washing/drying facilities including transport drivers
  • Perform on farm (multiplication, sows, NGF) biosecurity audits along with support veterinarians
  • Perform on farm (multiplication, sows, NGF) filtration audits along with support veterinarians
  • Look for process improvements in biosecurity and filtration at the farm level as well as system level
  • Set up, maintain and monitor filtration replacement schedules
  • Set up and monitor filtration testing to determine appropriate replacement needs
  • Arrange testing and tracking of med warehouse supplies including transportation/delivery methods and routes
  • Work with M/R to coordinate ensure work projects as performed in a biosecure manner
  • Work with M/R to ensure filtration and biosecurity work orders completed
  • Perform disease investigation audits as required and recommend remediation if needed

Support and manage dead animal handling, routes, disposal methods
Support research trials as related to biosecurity methods
Provide and update site biosecurity plans/maps
Be a leader in gathering industry knowledge and new technology as it relates to system biosecurity
Support and update transport biosecurity matrix and follow transportation biosecurity
Support and update transportation driver matrix
Support and update agronomy matrix
Support and update feed biosecurity matrix
Set up monthly meeting (as a part of health meetings) to review system biosecurity and filtration
