Bi-lingual Human Resource Assistant

About this Job:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Spanish speaking bi lingual Human Resources Assistant assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and services, including but not limited to recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, safety, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, and employee communications. The Human Resources Assistant reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in coordinating the recruitment and retention efforts for managed farms
  • Provides training to management staff on interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions and transfers, and performance evaluations
  • Assists in analyzing wage and salary reports and data to determine a competitive compensation plan and administers approved plans to managed farm employees
  • Maintains and monitors the performance evaluation system in the HRIS database, for managed farms
  • Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook policies and procedures in accordance to regulations
  • Creates, revises and manages job descriptions for managed farm employees
  • Writes and delivers presentations to senior management regarding HR policies and practices
  • Serves as a consultant to management teams, supervisors and employees in regards to employee relations issues
  • Assists in the benefits process, workers compensation, and safety programs
  • Maintains knowledge trend and advises management to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to human resources functions
  • Carries out effective orientations to integrate new employees into the company culture
  • Assists in determining reasons behind separations
  • Assists with the maintenance of the human resources information system
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirement:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Prior principles and practices in the human resources arena is required. Experience with an HRIS database is preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and excellent interpersonal skills, fluency in Spanish language

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

An Associate degree in a business field and
A minimum of 1-3 years human resources experience AND
1-3 years working in a bi lingual professional capacity
A Combination of education and experience

Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be self motivated
Highly organized, detail oriented, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated teamwork skills
Ability to function independently and effectively in a self directed environment
Ability to work under frequent time pressures
Ability to adapt easily to change
Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk for extended periods of time
