Account Manager

About this Job:

Hubbard Feeds, part of the Alltech® Feed Division, provides a full range of innovative, research-based animal feed and nutrition products. Our customers include meat, milk and egg producers as well as those with specialty and companion animals. Our goal is to provide customers with products and solutions that will improve their profitability and competitive advantage, while reducing risk and simplifying their lives.  We currently have a sales territory available that would be serviced by our Iowa City, IA manufacturing plant which would cover parts of central Iowa and are seeking a qualified candidate that has a strong beef and swine nutrition interest to join our sales team.

This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager based in IA and that person will facilitate the sale of all products through dealer networks and select direct accounts, with special emphasis on Beef and Swine nutrition and management. Account Managers are also accountable for growth within an existing customer base, prospecting for new accounts, developing and implementing sales plans, completing ration balancing and operating their territory within established travel and marketing expenses.   Account Managers have the support and assistance of the Regional Sales Manager and Specie Specialists to assist in the sales process and service after the sale.

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in sales, a solid understanding of animal nutritional needs with an emphasis on beef and swine nutrition and will have the demonstrated ability to grow our market share in the region. The position requires an ag related BS degree (or equivalent experience) and minimum of 3 years’ experience in beef and swine sales, and experience with nutritional software.
Qualified candidates will possess a valid driver’s license, exceptional time management skills and be able to work effectively with technical support staff while servicing the needs of our customers. Some overnight travel will be required.
