Special Notes: Hours: 8-5 varied; Work Location: Animal Science Research Center

Brief Summary: Coordinate implementation of swine nutrition experiments, order supplies, collect animal performance and carcass data, collect samples, conduct laboratory analyses, statistically summarize data and supervise undergraduate student employees.

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Science and Swine Nutrition. Six months to one year of professional, directly related experience is necessary.

Detailed Description:

Supervising animal care and collection of experimental and animal performance data. Make premixes for diets and order feed. Lab sample collection and preparation.

Laboratory analyses. Quality control and procedures for all laboratory work. Bomb calorimeter, Kjeldahl nitrogens, amino acid analyzer, spectrophotometer assays for swine nutrition experiments.

Supervising computer data entry. Work with Agric Exp. Sta. Statisticians to complete statistical analyses for all experimental data. Make summary tables and computer generated graphs.

Training, supervising and working with student employees.

Ordering feed ingredients and laboratory supplies. Implementation of animal experiments.
