Job Title: Sow Farm Manager
Location: Concordia, MO
Farm Manager will assign duties to Department Heads and when needed, to Farm Associates. The farm manager is responsible for the necessary animal husbandry for swine unit, biosecurity, breeding, farrowing, animal nutrition, EPA requirements and maintenance of the farm. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of all production
• Interview and recommend employment of Department Heads and Farm Associates.
• Recommend improvements or revisions in the production procedures.
• Insure the safety and well being of employees.
• Train personnel in the methods of production within the current production protocol.
• Monitor the health, feeding, and overall well-being of all animals.
• Develop scheduling and weekly work plans.
• Gilt Selection.
• Ensure biosecurity protocols are followed.
• Maintain targets and goals for nursery, breeding, and farrowing.
