<li>Analyze agronomic and environmental chemistry data, monitor nutrient levels in soils, effluent and groundwater by graphic and statistical methods. Calculate swine effluent land application volumes using agronomic rates.</li>
<li>Analyze and make recommendations on Research &amp; Development Area Research Projects. Oversee ongoing trials and design new trials based on operational and / or environmental emergent scenarios.</li>
<li>Train, supervise and evaluate environmental management personnel in environmental and safety functions and maintain accurate related records. Training includes Environmental Sampling of Soils, Effluent and Groundwater according to specific State and Federal regulations.</li>
<li>Conduct research on new technologies and practices.</li>
<li>Assist Environmental Superintendents and Coordinators.</li>
<li>Manage tenant farmer and landowner relations related to land application, including, but not limited to: lease payments; crop rotations; water use; weed and pest control; and timing of sampling and effluent applications.  Obtain and maintain records regarding crop yields, fresh water use and commercial fertilizer applied.</li>
<li>Coordinate with State representatives and consultants regarding monitoring well and leak detection system sampling and wetting front testing project.</li>
<li>Must have understanding of: research methodologies, laboratory analytical methods and equipment, nutrient management on agricultural land for sustainable agriculture and farming practices.</li>

<p>Assist in repair and maintenance projects with the maintenance staff.</p>
<p>Feed Manufacturing:</p>
<p>Assist the Feed Mill Operator as required to maximize the efficiency of the mill. These duties could include:</p>
<p>Filling micro ingredient boxes. Ingredient bin clean out. Addressing ingredient flow issues.</p>
<p>Bagging of complete feeds.</p>
<p>Receive training from the Mill Operator on the operation of the manufacturing equipment.</p>

<p>SUMMARY<br />
The primary purpose of the Manager Trainee Program is to develop the qualities and skills needed to manage the daily operations of the gestation/farrowing, sow farm, and/or finishing contract production departments. This will be achieved through implementing Country View Family Farms established production criteria and a series of seminars dealing with topics ranging from leadership to conflict resolution.</p>
<p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p>
<p>**This position requires one who is multi-task oriented and a team player.</p>
<p>1.) Develop competencies for all processes within the sow farm and finishing.</p>
<p>2.) Schedule and coordinates daily and weekly tasks with the Barn Manager, Department Leads and staff.</p>
<p>3.) Conducts a weekly review of departmental performance.</p>
<p>4.) Keeps accurate records and submits them in a timely manner to the Barn Manager and Department Lead.</p>
<p>5.) Ensure all established processes are being followed by all team members.</p>
<p>6.) Organizes pig flow.</p>
<p>7.) Implements technical protocols and helps to develop and test new processes. Ensures the farm’s working environment is safe by providing safety equipment, training, and actions to prevent hazardous conditions.</p>
<p>8.) Works in conjunction with the Barn Manager, Department Leads and Human Resources on personnel issues including, but not limited to, hiring, termination, worker safety, performance evaluation, and staffing levels.</p>
<p>9.) Will work with Department Leads for training all team members and ensure proper animal husbandry skills are being utilized.</p>
<p>10.) Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of facilities.</p>
<p>11.) Follows and monitors Animal Welfare policies and procedures including providing a physical environment that meets the animal’s needs, providing access to adequate water and high-quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care.</p>
<p>12.) Responsible for complying with all environmental laws and procedures to which the company is required to follow or voluntarily subscribes.</p>
<p>13.) Occasionally, fills in as Barn Manager, Department Lead, or Finish Service Manager after all skills needs to perform the job has been learned.</p>
